You can literally count female Pakistani athletes on your fingertips, yes they are unfortunately countable!! Shahlyla Baloch - a young rising star, big name in the world of football for Pakistan. She passed away in a car crash, Wednesday night. (All the deepest condolences to her family). It is a big loss for the Pakistan women's football. Pakistan’s football lost a gem. She was full of skills. Nation is deeply saddened and shocked due to her tragic death. She was a brave girl, who taught other women a great lesson that - never give up, try hard as you can. May the departed soul rest in peace. She was the active member of the team. Her coach said on her death that,
"She was the best female football player Pakistan has ever produced. Her death was great loss to Pakistan women's football."
She was a true female hero in the time of such chaos. She was born in 1996. She represented Pakistan at the international level. She played for Baluchistan United at domestic level and was transferred to Sun Hotel and Resorts Football team.
She was the proud daughter of Agha Irfan (Ex-MPA) and Rubina Irfan. Her mother is the chairperson of the Pakistan Football Federation - PFF women's wing. Her family is the pioneer to evolve women's football in Pakistan. Her elder sister Raheela, is the youngest manager of the Pakistan football team. Where as, her younger sister, also plays for Pakistan women’s football team. Many allegations were made on her family but she always denied them. She once said,
"I think we are criticized mainly because our mother is in the federation. There are other sister duos in the national team as well but they are never riled as we are.”
They were also blamed for the loss in Women's Championship back in 2014.
She was outspoken and straight forward. According to her,
"The best players always get criticized"
She said,
"I can challenge all the players who think they are better than me to come and play in my position and then we'll see who is the best."
She also favored her sister to be as a manager,
"Her managerial expertise made her the best choice to be Pakistan’s manager at the regional extravaganza."
She was just 7years old, when she started playing football for which she received an award of “FIFA's youngest player”
She was called as the first female to score a hat-trick from Pakistan at the international level. She represented Pakistan at the 2014 SAFF Women's Championship in Islamabad. Due to her remarkable performance, Pakistan won over Bhutan by 4-1. She was also awarded as the best player of Pakistan thrice in 2009, 2011 and 2013. She was Maradona to the women's football team.
Shahlyla Baloch was confident, self believe and determine player. Every women in the Pakistan can take her as an inspiration. Shahlyla Baloch - a young and energetic - prove herself that women too can do whatever they want to do. She was inspired by Argentinian star Maradona and Messi.
Shahlyla Baloch was the finest striker for Pakistan women’s football team. She also played for the Baluchistan United Football Club as a forward. She was young and extraordinary player - a proud daughter of the nation. Pakistan salutes you!! We are proud of her achievements.
